Abo Hamdi (at far right), a former philosophy student at the University of Aleppo looks for his sister's husband at the Islamic cemetery in Aleppo. Abo Hamdi's brother was killed by a shell in the Bustan Al-Qasr neighborhood of Aleppo (in the same incident that cost Hamdi his right leg). A week later a shell fell on his apartment and killed two of his cousins. After visiting the Office of the River Martyrs this family asked Hisham if he remembers one of the victims he recently pulled out of the river that displayed a scar on his left forearm - earlier that week they had seen a mugshot of one of the victim's database at Hisham's office that appeared to be Hamdi's brother-in-law. Because of the level of decomposition of the body, Hisham suggested they visit the cemetery where dozens of victims from the river have been laid to rest. The family demanded they exhume two sites in an effort to inspect the corpse and verify if any of them had a scar on his left forearm (a scar that would confirm the identity of Hamdi's brother-in-law). Five bodies were inspected - none of them yielded a positive match.
