A smugglers’ haven in the Sahara (19/38)
AGADEZ, NIGER —
Passengers pray during a sand storm at the side of the road on their journey to the city of Agadez, Niger. During the many police check-points, migrants were routinely extorted for money by the police, who held their travel documents until the money was paid. Migrants are routinely harassed by both police and military personnel along the various countries they travel through before reaching their final destination.
