A convoy led by Afghan border police and Afghan National Army vehicles is followed by members of 3rd Platoon, Comanche Company, 1-501 IN (ABN) (Task Force Blue Geronimo) out of Fort Richardson Alaska, as they travel to the village of Taroba located in the Terazai district of Khost province. The purpose of the mission is to conduct a biometrics sweep on the village in order to collect intelligence on local residents. International forces are increasingly relying on Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) such as the Afghan Border Police (ABP) in conducting village searches, key village leader engagements and biometrics intelligence gathering operations in preparation for the 2013 handover of security operations to the ANSF. ©Javier Manzano
